It’s hard to believe that our first month back in business has already come to a close. Stacey and I have both had a fantastic time getting to know some of you, and helping to fulfill your fluffy dreams. We’re incredibly blessed to have such a wonderful community around us, and want to say thank you to each and every one of you who are along for this journey with us!
We had a very successful month in September, but there was a lot of incredibly hard work that went into making that possible. We thought we would give you a little glimpse into behind the scenes. We were hard at work in the months leading upto the Grand Reopening on September 1st, and here’s a little bit of the story of how it all went down.
Back in May, I saw a post by Cat saying that Bouncing Babies was up for sale. It was late at night, and I was just hanging on the couch with my hubby, and thought to myself what a cool opportunity this could be! I decided to email for a few details, but I was concerned about doing it all alone. Enter Stacey. I knew right off the bat that Stacey and I would work incredibly well, and it has turned out to be spot on. We compliment each other really well, and would you believe that we had never even met in real life until this past August? It’s true! We decided to move forward with the purchase, and signed all the documents in the beginning of August. Then the fun really began!
During the month of July we got all of the business arrangements made, and got to work deciding on our assortment. Stacey and I are super passionate about cloth diapering, and want to carry pretty much everything. We quickly realized that wouldn’t be feasible based on our budget, and had to start deciding what we would focus on. Man, was that hard! It’s still hard. Pretty much on a daily basis, one of is saying how we should carry such and such product. Oh man, we have the highest hopes and aspirations for Bouncing Babies! You guys are all helping to make this a reality for us, and we can’t wait to grow Bouncing Babies into a leading online destination for cloth diapering.
Speaking of online destination, how do you like the new website?! Stacey is our technical guru, and has worked her tush off to bring you all the best website possible. She has put in countless hours, scrutinizing every little detail making sure it is as user friendly as possible. Sometimes the lingo that flows out of her mouth is just complete jargon to me, but again we compliment each other nicely. Hence, why you’ll see me writing quite a few of our blogs and Facebook updates. I’ve always loved to write, so it’s nice to have a good venue for that.
Leading up to our Grand Reopening, Stacey and I thought it would be good for us to spend a weekend together and just work on all things Bouncing Babies. Stacey packed up and came out to Seattle for a long weekend at the end of August. It was awesome getting to know each other in person, and it really felt like we’d been the best of friends for ages. We worked late into the night, and then during the days too when the kiddos were napping or my husband was home to watch them. We had plenty of fun too! We grilled salmon, and had friendly competitions…Stacey and my husband have already agreed to a rematch soon! 😉 The time was too short, and we’re already planning our next couple of trips. We’re going to be taking a family vacation together early next year, and then we’re planning on heading to the ABC Convention this time next year as well.
Anyway, we thought you’d like a little glimpse into how we got here, and what the last month was like for us. If you’ve made it to the end of the monster blog, I’ll take it as a sign that maybe you enjoyed the read and got a chuckle or two. We are just really grateful for all of our wonderful customers and can’t wait to see what next month has in store for all of us! 🙂
